Kerman Veterans Need Help To Open Center

Veterans with the American Legion Westland Post 355 in Kerman need help raising money to refurbish an old farmhouse.

The groups say the farmhouse will be used for meetings and other functions.

Kerman City Council approved a seven-year lease on the farmhouse with the post for $1 a year.

Members say the project needs about $35,000 for materials and services to get the farmhouse running.

Anyone who would like to donate time and money can do so by calling Kerman City Manager Luis Patlan at (559) 846-9387 or contact the American Legion.

Donations are tax deductible.

Eat Locally at Richard's Prime Rib & Seafood

Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin invites you to join her tonight when she eats at Richard's Prime Rib and Seafood. Richard's is the location for this month's "Local Bites" night.

“This month Local Bites will not only provide yet another fun opportunity to support our local economy, but it will take us to a local restaurant that has been a part of our community in the same location on Belmont since 1969,” Mayor Swearengin said.  “Richard’s Prime Rib and Seafood has supported our community for decades and is a great reminder that supporting local businesses is important because these are the businesses that provide more than 70% of the jobs in our area.”

Local Bites is a “dine local” campaign developed in partnership with Taste Fresno to demonstrate that choosing a locally owned restaurant at least once a month is something simple we can all help support our local economy.
